Understanding Thermal Runaway Hazards: Single-Cell Duration and Cascade Propagation
Single-Cell TR Duration:
A thermal runaway event within an isolated battery cell typically persists for approximately 20 seconds to 1 minute before undergoing thermal attenuation.
Inter-Cell Thermal Propagation:
If the thermal barrier fails, adjacent cells successively experience thermal runaway. This cell-to-cell propagation accelerates continuously due to cumulative heat dissipation.
Enclosure Structural Integrity:
This uncontrollable thermal cascade presents severe safety risks, potentially causing the battery pack enclosure to lose its structural integrity within a few minutes.
